SKITTLES

As some people may know i've been involved in creating the majority of Manchester based rapper Skittles' artwork and promo material. As well as the caricature and cover artwork I've created his website, facebook and even a custom font!

"I don't care if you can't read it...

...Im a graphic designer!"

"I dont care if you can't dance to it, its post-dub-step-future-garage-bass-music. Its supposed to be out of time!"

This is my ode to everything pompous, pedantic & pretentious...and played out. ie. Graphic designers that think they're the mutt's nuts even though there just copying all the other graphic designers.

This is to equilateral triangles. Circles. Spacescapes. And full grown men dressing in the clothes of tiny sailors

Keep your eyes peeled for later installments where I'll explore the wide spectrum of played out graphic design trends. Including the all too popular symmetrical collage of miscellaneous objects and cutout lips.

But on a serious note, I enjoyed making this, and I quite like it...

Its been a long time...

I shouldn't have left you...

OK after putting it off for aaaaages i'm officially back on the blog.

LETS GO!

Painting in Swaziland

Just got back from 2 weeks in Swaziland where my parents are doing charity work. They're based at Hawane farm orphanage. Most of the kids have lost relatives, so some of the workers, and other charity teams have been helping to make a memorial garden where the kids can come and reflect. Theres a little fountain and some of the kids have painted stones which represent there family members they've lost.

I added some painting to brighten it up. The main piece being a caterpillar, a chrysalis, and a butterfly, which represents death and new life... I'll get pictures up as soon as i get the chance

Circus of Oddities

Dont Panic & Whatever the Weather, with sponsorship from Smirnoff, hosted the Circus of Oddities at Copper Face Jacks, under the Palace Theatre in Manchester.

They asked me to make a giant clown face for the front entrance so people entered through its mouth, which would be guarded by two golden centaurs, obviously.

Here it is... as well as me as a mime, with Drago...

Flash animation/application

OK, ignore the content, because there isn't any. None that makes sense anyway.

This is a work in progress for a web application, explaining a number of services in a visual manner.

Click a direction on the sign to check out that bit of animation.

Dream creature

I had a WEIRD dream last night. Well, it was pretty normal actualy apart from the fact there were these shell things with tentacles underneath floating about the place. My brother was giving me a lift to work and they were all in his car, in the footwell. One of their tentacles grabbed my hand when i picked one up. Was pretty rank. Anyway i asked my mum what they were and how come they can float, and she said they were "ghosts of..." something. I cant remember what. Was pretty weird. Whats also weird is they look familiar somehow. Maybe i'v just taken them from somewhere else.

Anyway..i drew what they looked like so let me know if you recognise them. They were all different sizes but most were about the size of a swede and looked like this...

Shakespeare

Just been taking some stuff off my old computer, heres a little shakespeare character i drew and vectorised. with a little touch of animation.
